In it for the money?!

This was something that was brought up last night at the Ferry Plantation Friday Night Frights event and I just wanted to reiterate here for those that couldn't make it out.

Lately I have been seeing more instances of Paranormal groups charging for a portion of, or all of, their service. I am wondering why do this if your intention is to help others understand what is going on in their home and/or place of business?

Is this the only source of income? Is it a for profit business?  Does everything come with a price now? Is money so tight that you feel you must charge your client in an effort to recoup what you spent on gas, food, lodging, equipment, etc?

I have seen groups charging for the interview, pictures and evps on separate DVDs and I have to ask myself  "why?". Is the motto "You get what you pay for" applicable for Paranormal investigation?
Oh ok, you investigate for free but you want money for what you found.. wait what?!! WHAT!!!

Other groups I have seen say they take donations, just like we do, but then try very diligently to emphasize the donation issue(we DO NOT do that) in an effort to guilt the client into giving money. Really?? what purpose does it serve?

I can tell you for a fact 757 Paranormal will never use those tactics. Yes, we do ask for a donation but, as you can see, it's here on our site(you may have to look for it too). It's never brought up in front of the client which is how it should be. If the client offers a donation, then you have the choice of accepting or politely declining. If they insist then graciously accept it.

When the popularity of paranormal investigation wanes and it's no longer a lucrative source of income; how many groups will still be here????
